Born in Larisa, 1965. She studied chemistry at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. After completing her studies, she continued her education at the London School of Journalism.
She has worked for more than 22 years as a journalist in both the print press as well as in major television networks like SKAI, STAR, ALTER and MEGA.
Ms Spyraki worked in the European Parliament between 2003 and 2004 at the Press Office and was Head of Communications at the office of Commissioner Stavros Dimas during 2004-2009 term.
As a reporter, she has covered major political developments in South-East Europe and has covered the main political scenes from 1998 until 2014 when she resigned from all her journalism engagements to run for office at the European Parliament upon the request of Prime Minister Antonis Samaras.
She was elected first in order at the European Elections of 2014 with Nea Dimokratia and she sits with the European People’s Party in the European Parliament. She is a member of the Committees of Regional Development and of Industry, Research and Energy as well as a member of the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the relations of the EU with the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
She currently attends an Executive Master’s Program at the Athens University of Economics and Business on European Studies.
She is married to Stratos Stylianides, who is an Adjunct Professor at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and together they have two children.
