Ms. Irena Sokolova is a Member of Parliament at 43^rd National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. She is a Member of the Bulgarian Political Party GERB and the Chair of the Women’s Organization of the Party.

Irena Sokolova is Deputy Chairwoman of the Parliament’s Committee on Culture and Media and she is a Member of the Religious Denominations and Human Rights Committee. She was elected Member of Parliament at the 41^st and 42^nd National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria.

During 2014-2015 she served as the Governor of the Pernik Province and she was awarded the "2015 Governor".

Irena Sokolova holds a Master’s degree in Social Psychology. She graduated from the Institute "Bernhard Ahtenberg" in Germany, majored in "Psychotherapist Psychodrama." She is a Member of the Bulgarian Association of Psychotherapy and the Association of Clinical Psychologists in Bulgaria.

She is fluent in English and Russian.
